Kristin Talgø is a Norwegian science fiction and fantasy writer. For as long as she can remember, she has loved to read and write stories. She wrote her first story at the age of seven, continued through her teens, but didn’t start taking it seriously until she was nineteen.
The main reason why she writes is because it makes her very happy. In the summer of 2010, she attended a Creative Writing Course at the University of Edinburgh. When no one ridiculed her for wanting to be a writer nor for writing science fiction and fantasy, she came out of the closet as a writer and hasn’t looked back since.
Ever since she was a kid, she’s been drawn to the kind of books that pulls her into strange, mysterious, alternate realities. As long as a story grabs her, she can read just about anything. But science fiction and fantasy will always have a special place in her heart, and so it has become the genre she in which she writes.
She also has a bachelor degree in Social Work. During this degree, she discovered she was severely challenged as an academic writer, and she went straight back to being a creative one. But at least she got to live in Ghana for a time, got married and had a daughter. While she’s no longer married, she still has her daughter. And so all things told, she considers her time well spent.
