Gift Giving Time
We are just getting into the swing of Winter, and with that comes the December Holiday Season, or Gift Giving Time. What better way to celebrate than with the gift of literature.
When you look back in time, nothing brings a larger smile on a persons face than the gift of a book they will cherish. In fact, people love to read. That’s right, books are the best thing you can give a child. If you have a child on your gift giving list then we suggest one of the children’s books of Seong-min Yoo:
Seong-min has created three amazing children’s books which she wrote and illustrated herself. She takes each story and renders the images in watercolour before using a high resolution scanner to record them for publishing. Those works are then put together using the same care we do with other books.
But if you have a horror fan who loves satire in the writing, best to look to S.A. Baker and his releases:
Sid is a self-proclaimed recovering rock musician, we think that’s why he plays competitive bagpipes. No, we kid you not. When not writing, raising his kids, trying to evade his wife’s demands, or taking care of the elderly, this gentle sole dreams. If you’ve ever read his work you’d smile, laugh, and throw it against the wall in shocked horror, that is unless you’re reading his latest – Wisdom from the Fuzzy Blue Chair, a memoir of his daughters early years in life. His next book, Not a Hope in Hel, is currently in the editing stages and getting ready for publication. Here is a list of his current work – Winderbourne, Faun Song, Wisdom from the Fuzzy Blue Chair.
MJ Moores is a talented writer, and this Christmas all she wants to do is cuddle up with a good book while her husband watches their child. It’s why this Sci-Fi fanatic has picked up her pen and made it write romance. It was one of her dreams to become an editor of an imprint, and this year she made that happen. Not only does she write for our Love Knot Books imprint, she also is the managing editor.
Final Year is MJ’s first romance novel in her College series. The next one coming is Vice.
If you love Sci-Fi like we live Sci-Fi then Escaping the Caves is one you’ll want to read.
Kristin Talgø’s first novel surprised us. It’s deep, rich characters and honest emotional content surprises everyone when they read it. From start to finish, the post-apocalyptic novel will keep your attention. Don’t let her name fool you, Kristin’s depth of skill at writing is on par with the best out there. And the novel is from a woman’s point of view so it’s good for both women and men.
If fantasy is your thing, then look no farther than both Douglas Owen and Kim Kerr!
Doug created the Spear series during four NaNoWriMo challenges. The series is comprised of three books with a possible fourth coming in the near future. The books are A Spear in Flight, A Sharp Spear Point, and Slashed by a Spear Shaft.
Kim brought us a world right out of D&D fantasy. His first novel, Broken Star, is the first in his Dark Elf series. The next, The Snow Leopard’s Crown, is being prepared for release in January.
We have multiple other authors whose work will surprise and entertain the most diligent bookworm. Take a look!
Please remember to have a safe and happy holiday this season.
